JTC and A*STAR officially opened A*STAR’s Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech) and National Metrology Centre (NMC) during JID Day.
The opening of SIMTech and NMC charts a new wave of sustainable manufacturing at JID which drives net-zero emissions by 2050. The research facilities will support and encourage local businesses to innovate and adopt advanced manufacturing technologies to become more competitive, cost-efficient, and sustainable.

Leveraging JTC’s Industry Connect efforts, a new initiative to support businesses in transforming their workforce as they accelerate their I4.0 transformation was rolled out to JTC tenants.
The Sectoral Job Redesign Initiative for Business and Workforce Transformation, which is driven by the trade associations, and supported by WSG and McKinsey, provides enterprise-centric support for companies to identify key productivity drivers, implement pre-scoped sector specific solutions, and reskill their workforce to take on redesigned job roles in growth areas.
